It's French, it's a low-budget first/third-person shooter, and its biggest claim to fame is that Hubert ( Alone in the Dark) Chardot penned the script - which is passably generic at best. Let's face it though, the odds were against this one from the start. Crushing linearity and an insane preponderance of intrusive cut-scenes betray an overzealous cinematisation, while poor production values and uninspired gameplay hark back to a more traditional paradigm. In a heartstopping twist, From Dusk Till Dawn has managed to tread a tightrope between the two. While those golden days are behind us, the bigger worry these days is that the developers will get the whole 'film' thing into their heads and take a crack at that nemesis of decent gameplay, the interactive movie. Run From Dusk Till Dawn is an original and fun endless runner, which not only offers an unusual perspective on the genre (first person) but also adds some unusual elements, such as quick-time events and the possibility of using covers to shoot your enemies. In simpler times, all you had to worry about when confronted with a minor film-licensed game was the likelihood that it was a soulless, formula-driven cash-in, probably a generic shooter, probably complete nob. After completing these missions, you earn a bunch of coins, which you can use to unlock a lot of additional content, such as new characters and new weapons. And you'll have to do this often because you'll encounter dozens and dozens of enemy vampires.Įvery time you start a new game you have to complete a series of missions. Also, tap on the screen to use your weapon. Similarly, if you slide up and down you can jump and roll on the floor. You can move your character from one side to the other by sliding your finger across the screen. Plus, you can unlock characters from the original movie. This is a first-person endless runner that puts you in control of some of the characters of the series. Run From Dusk Till Dawn is the official video game of the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series.
